Patio screen door measurement guide
Measure the details your replacement patio screen door needs.
A sliding patio screen door needs more than width and height. Record the finished dimensions, frame style, rollers, handle side and handle height before you configure the replacement.
Best reference
If you still have the old door, measure it.
- Lay the existing screen door on a flat surface when practical. Avoid using a visibly bowed or twisted frame as your only reference.
- Measure finished outside width. Measure outer frame edge to outer frame edge and record to the nearest 1/8 inch.
- Measure finished outside height. Measure the full outside frame height to the nearest 1/8 inch.
- Identify the rollers. Compare the existing roller system to the steel and nylon options shown in the configurator.
- Record handle side. Determine whether the replacement handle belongs on the left or right.
- Measure handle height. Measure from the bottom of the finished door to the handle location.
Missing old door
If the original patio screen door is gone.
Measure the actual screen-door track and opening carefully, including top and bottom conditions. Do not automatically assume the track opening itself equals the finished replacement-door size. Patio tracks and roller systems vary, and Screens 702 fabricates from the dimensions you submit.
When there is no original door to copy, verify twice.

Final check
Have these six items ready before configuring.
Height
Finished outside height to the nearest 1/8 inch.
Frame
Rolled Form Steel, Standard Aluminum or Supreme Aluminum.
Rollers
Steel or nylon, matching the configuration being replaced.
Handle side
Left or right as required for the replacement.
Handle height
Measured upward from the bottom of the finished door.
